The Passing of Michael Sefton

Michael Sefton was born 16 August 1949 in Hamilton and died in Lindsay on 1 Dec. 2016. He was predeceased by his parents Larry Sefton and Elaine Melhuish Sefton. Friends will remember him as a gardener, a golfer, a voracious reader and a raconteur, for his gentle nature, his disinterest in clothes, his individualism and his insights.

Michael lived the last years of his life in Fenelon Falls. It was close to Sturgeon Point, where the Sefton and Levinson families started cottaging together when he was a young child. His parents eventually bought their own cottage in 1967, which he loved and eventually he co-owned it with his lifelong friend, Wendy Levinson.

He leaves his sister Laurel Sefton MacDowell, his niece Jen, his nephews Lawrence and Stephen and his friend Merle Therien and will be missed by all of them. The family is thankful to the staff at the Ross Memorial hospital who took good care of him in the Palliative Care Centre.
