Voices for the TSW are a group of concerned residents, cottagers, business people and city councillors intersted in issues such as infrastructure repair, water quality and conservation, and economic and environmental impacts of the TSW on the surrounding regions. Last year the group published a report entitled “Its All About the Water”. They recently published Position Paper-Voices for the TSW and will be discussing this at an open meeting on May 30th in Buckhorn. WRAFT newsletter
If you are concerned with high property taxes on waterfront properties, you may be interested in the recent Wraft Report to Members May 2009. WRAFT stands for “Waterfront Ratepayers After Fair Taxation”, which explains quite clearly what the organisation is about. A link to the WRAFT website can be found on our Links page.

Hydro One donates $5000 to the Sturgeon Point Association
On Saturday November 29th Hydro One representative Jack Steele presented the Sturgeon Point Association with a cheque for $5000.00 from Hydro One’s Power Play initiative. Hydro One’s contribution will be used towards a multi-purpose court in the park. The official opening of the completed project will take place on July 4th 2009.
SPA raised over $120,000 from village residents, corporate sponsers, CoKL and a variety of foundations to replace and refurbish the playground at Sturgeon Point.
