Celebrating 125 Years: Canada Day Kickoff

We’ve got a busy weekend ahead of us!  It’s the kickoff of our 125th Anniversary Celebrations, starting with a lineup of events for Canada Day on Sunday, June 30th!

Canada Day Celebration Details:

10:30 AM: Join us at the church for a museum exhibit and talk titled, “Ripples in our Heritage: Importance of Our Waterways in Sturgeon Point and Kawartha Lakes”. Delve into the rich heritage of water use in our community, exploring its historical significance and relevance today.

11:30 AM: Move to the Upper Wharf for a special ceremony:

  • Witness the raising of the flag and join in singing the National Anthem.
  • Dedication of the 125th Anniversary commemorative tree, marking Sturgeon Point’s historic milestone.

12:00 PM: Celebrate Canada Day at the park with our annual BBQ:

  • Enjoy hot dogs, hamburgers, fresh fruits, veggies, water, and desserts.
  • Meet and greet with Mayor Doug Elmslie and Councillor Mike Perry.
  • Bring your own lawn chair and reusable cups/plates to help us reduce waste.

Back by popular demand is the Canada Day silent auction bake sale. If you have a knack for baking and would like to contribute homemade treats, we would be delighted to sell them.  Let us know by filling out this form by no later than June 28th.
